Thanksgiving Thankful Tree

A lot of people do a "What are we thankful for?" activity at Thanksgiving.  We usually go around the table and say what we're thankful for. This year I wanted to do something different.  The kids are older now and should be more thankful for more diverse things than when they were younger.  I also wanted to make my husband participate too.

My youngest Alyssa is the artist in the family.  That kid can draw anything so drawing a tree trunk and branches was easy peasy for her.  She made the tree for us and hung it up on the door closest to the dining room which is the basement door.

I had gotten two die cut leaves banners from Dollar Tree out of the teachers' section.  These were the perfect size.  We just ripped off a leaf as we went.  Oh and the black poster was from there too so this cost us a whopping $3. :)

As we were eating we passed around leaves and a sharpie and wrote down things as they occurred to us.  (No pressure just think of it and jot it down.)  After we finished we took turns taping up some of our leaves.

Here's our tree and some of the things we're thankful for.

Samantha my little brainiac is thankful for math.  We all should be but I'd never think to write it.

I hope it turned out great!  I'm going to hit up Dollar Tree again this week to see if there are any leaves left so we can do this again next year. :)
